Interview Today

Today I took part in a group Interview for Victoria's Secret today, I was somewhat confident about it until they mentioned the dress code required to work there.
I like to think of my self as a physically creative person, so when the interviewers mentioned the fact that potential employees cannot have any facial body jewelry other than earnings and have a natural hair color, this was somewhat disheartening.
I have finally reached the point in my life where I am confident in my (somewhat) overall outer appearance, and it was not an easy journey but as long as I am here now, happy when I look at myself in the mirror.
As dumb as it may sound, job or no job, I most definitely will not be taking out any piercings or dyeing my hair to any color other than the color that I want it to be.

I am me, accept it or not.

This is the Time.

I have recently been going back and forth between the idea of going "Raw", or excluding foods cooked or prepared above 118 degrees Fahrenheit. And I have come to the conclusion that I just am too accoustomed to having my daily tea and my occasional "meat-like" additives like tofu, seitan, and wheat gluten.
I fear that this could be a sign of weakness but I'm just going to choose to look on the brighter side of things and choose to make other substitutions to my diet. For instance:

  • Drink more water
-and try my best not to default to sugary drinks like soda and juice
  • Stay away from fattier foods
    - i.e fried foods, and others containing too much grease or oil
  • Stay away from comfort foods
    - like chips and candies
  • Not consume any additive salts
    - Unless it is already in the foods I'm eating
    - I will not add any to my cooking, I wanna explore the more natural flavors of things.

Support.

It is usually the hardest thing in the world to stand alone on a topic that you feel strongly about.
The thing that you really need to sustain the strong foundation is support. All you need is that group of people that you can lean on and cheer you on as you reach your goals.
I, personally, as a vegan, have often undergone an illusion of support from my friends and family. Often they say "Oh, I could never do that, good for you" and then next thing that you hear from them when you ask for support is "you made this lifestyle change, not us." And there you are left, with the foundation cracking under your feet.
But you just have to stand strong, and hold your ground, don't let your efforts falter.
Stay Strong. I Support You.

Hello Out There :)

I just transitioned from having a Tumblr account. Though it had good intentions, I feel that the website I just getting out of hand with the amount of tweens mindlessly reblogging photographs of things that don't really matter in life. Sure it was fun at the time but I just wish to move on into a realm of more serious matters that I really want to talk about. No senseless re-posting here, haha.
So here I am :)

This particular blog will probably be tailored toward my life as a Vegan. It will most likely include:

  • Recipes
  • Vegan interest and topics
  • My experience living as a Vegan
  • Random thoughts that are somewhat relevant
Hope that I can get a message across to someone out there

Peace :)
